Description
Māngere Arts Centre nurtures and presents the diversity of arts, crafts and cultural activities that underpin the unique character of Māngere.
The centre includes:
- 390 m² of performing arts space
- 217 m² of gallery space - known for cutting-edge visual exhibitions of regional and national importance
- 56 m² studio space used for a wide range of performances and events
- foyers
- offices
- dressing rooms
- a community kitchen
- The Community Café
- an outdoor courtyard.
The centre aims to showcase artists in the community of all backgrounds and ages. We do this by providing a professional and high quality venue with skilled staff who are passionate about Māngere.
With a particular focus on Maori and Pacific visual and performing arts, the centre offers a wide range of arts experiences including:
