Mt Albert Community and Leisure Centre

Description

Situated in Mount Albert War Memorial Reserve – a quiet park with abundant green spaces, the facility is run in partnership with YMCA. The centre features an on-site café and foyer with friendly reception team, conveniently located close to Rocket Park playground.

Due to the Central Interceptor project - there is limited parking available in the shared carpark. Parking is available along Wairere Avenue, Councillors Drive and on Selcourt Road. More information about this project can be found here.

Rooms available for hire

Garlick Room - accommodates up to 30 people

The Garlick Room is a large open plan half-carpeted, half-linoleum room featuring a fully functional kitchen. With lots of natural light and big windows, the doors open out onto a covered deck, courtyard and large park area.

Taylor Room - accommodates up to 30 people

The Taylor Room is fully carpeted with a permanent electronic screen and two large sliding doors which open out onto a covered deck, courtyard and large park area.

Rattray Room - accommodates up to 30 children and 20 adults

The Rattray Room is a purpose-built room for children’s activities with doors that open out onto a large securely fenced deck, shade sail and sandpit. The room includes children’s amenities, a sink for activity clean-up, children’s chairs & tables and access to large park area and nearby Rocket Park playground.

Mezzanine Room - accommodates up to 50 people

The Mezzanine Room is located upstairs overlooking the stadium. This large carpeted space features a mirrored wall, air-conditioning and a fully functional kitchen & servery.

Group Exercise Room - accommodates 50 people (seated) additional standing

The Group Exercise Room features an open floor space with rubber flooring, a permanent stage, electronic screen, acoustic paneling, plenty of power points, air-conditioning and large mirrored wall. A sliding door opens out onto a courtyard and park area

Youth Hub

The Youth Hub is a space dedicated to youth activities, small meetings and quiet study. Available weekends and occasional evenings only, please enquire for more information.

Stadium - accommodates up to 100

The Frank Turner Stadium holds up to 100 people in spectator seating, accommodates most indoor sports and is marked for 1 basketball, 4 badminton, 1 indoor football and 4 pickleball courts. The stadium can be heated in winter months and available equipment includes; an electronic scoreboard, badminton poles, four basketball hoops and indoor football goals.

Counselling/Meeting room.

Located by the stadium bleachers, this room is only suitable for one on one sessions
