Sunderland Lounge was built in the late 1940s and was initially used as the airbase’s cinema. It is named after the Sunderland seaplanes which were based at Hobsonville in the 1940s and 1950s. The Sunderland Lounge has been refurbished and repurposed as a community facility. There are 3 spaces for hire including a large hall (and large kitchen) and the venue connects onto the Headquarters Park & Playground. Maximum capacity: 374 people. The Headquarters Building also connects to the Headquarters Park and can provide additional spaces for hire for events needing to spread out more. Maximum capacity 100.
